Because 70 percent of overweight adolescents remain overweight as adults, the overall goal of The ACE Program is to improve health through weight loss at an early age by promoting healthier eating and activity habits that can last a lifetime.

There are several phases to the ACE Program, each phase medically supervised. There is an assessment phase where areas of improvement are identified and patient-readiness is assessed. Counseling, Optifast® nutrition, family meetings and progress reports are all part of the ACE Program.

Specific goals are developed for each young person based on their individual needs. Food choice, eating habits and physical activity are areas of focus for each child. Family support, which includes education and training, is essential to the success of the ACE Program. Our interdisciplinary team works with the child and family to help you understand the importance of each component of the ACE Program.
