Lutheran Children’s Hospital Hosts Safe, Fall-tastic Halloween
Free Festivities on Oct. 29
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Oct. 27, 2008) — Trick-or-treaters of all ages are invited to the Lutheran Children's Hospital Super Duper Spooktacular Fall Festival. The event takes place Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the northwest parking lot of Lutheran Hospital.
Enjoy a cookie walk, straw maze, games, treats, safety tips and giveaways. Hands-on opportunities include a Science Central exhibit, a Fort Wayne Children's Zoo animal exhibit and even a FedEx "Trucks for Treats" booth in association with Safekids.
Children will have a chance to look inside an ambulance. Kids can also check out the Fort Wayne Police Department K9 unit and fire engines from the Fort Wayne Fire Department and St. Joseph Township Fire Department.
Area mascots kick off a costume contest at 6:30 p.m. for children 2 to 10 years of age. Please register prior to the contest. A prize will be awarded for each category:
- Most Creative
- Best Character
- Most Adorable
Judges include: Mayor Tom Henry; Karen Springer, COO, Lutheran Hospital; Jackie Wolpert, Whispering Meadows Elementary Principal; The Mad Ant, the mascot of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants; Dan Austin, K105 DJ.
The Spooktacular Fall Festival is free and open to the community. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Donations of non-perishable items are encouraged for the Community Harvest Food Bank.
