Lutheran Health Network Turns to Internal Candidates to Fill Three Top Positions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014) – Lutheran Health Network has chosen three internal leaders to fill top roles on its administrative teams. Two chief operating officers have been appointed, Lorie Ailor to The Orthopedic Hospital of Lutheran Health Network, and Matt Lehn to RediMed and Business Health Services. In addition, Angie Logan has been chosen as the new chief nursing officer at Dupont Hospital.

Ailor has 24 years of healthcare experience, 16 of which have been with LHN. Most recently, she served as executive director of rehabilitation services and the bariatric and weight management centers at Lutheran Hospital. Earlier in her career, she was the senior director of Rehab/Wellness & Fitness/Occupational Health at Caylor-Nickel Medical Center.

Very civic-minded, Ailor is currently the vice president of the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House and she has served for years on the executive committee of the Kids Helping Kids Charity Basketball Tournament. Her other volunteer work has included assisting organizations such as United Way, March of Dimes, Indiana Occupational Therapy Association, MDA, and Trine and Huntington universities. Ailor earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Indianapolis, and her master’s degree from the University of Indianapolis in 1990.

Logan was recently named chief nursing officer at Dupont Hospital after working there as interim CNO since May. She previously served as assistant chief nursing officer at Lutheran Hospital and as nurse manager of its advanced cardiac therapy unit where she was also responsible for inpatient and outpatient aquapheresis therapy. Employed at Lutheran Hospital since 2000, Logan began as the heart failure coordinator in 2009 and advanced to nurse manager in 2011.

In 2013, Logan received the national Heart Failure Nurse Maven Award from The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium. She received her associate degree from Purdue University, Fort Wayne. She is currently enrolled in a master’s program for leadership and management at Western Governors University, Salt Lake City.

Lehn has shifted from being the chief operating officer at Bluffton Regional Medical Center, a Lutheran Health Network member, into the same role for RediMed and Business Health Services. Lehn is now overseeing the completion of a $5.9 million capital project that includes the addition of two new urgent care clinics and renovations to four other existing facilities.

Lehn has extensive experience in medical group operations and physician relations. He previously served as vice president of physician services for DeKalb Health and he also spent 15 years in various roles at Lutheran Hospital and Lutheran Health Network. Lehn earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Ball State University and his MBA from Indiana University.
