Lutheran Children’s Hospital Hosts “Donate Eight” to Support Children with Hair Loss

Event to provide hair and financial donations to nonprofit wig supplier

WHAT: Donate Eight is an event where participants shed eight inches of hair or more for Children With Hair Loss, a nonprofit that creates hairpieces for children battling various illnesses that impede hair growth. At least 20 women and men will donate their hair this weekend. Professional hairstylists are donating their services to support the children and their families. Some participants have raised money for the organization. A handful of nurses from Lutheran Children’s Hospital will also have their hair cut at the event.

WHEN: 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 18

WHERE: Lutheran Hospital
  South lobby, Medical Office Building Two
  7910 W. Jefferson Blvd.

WHY: Managing a serious illness such as cancer can be daunting for anyone, but when a child experiences this set back it is even more difficult for the entire family. Lutheran Children’s Hospital supports families and children managing numerous types of childhood illnesses.
