Lutheran Children’s Hospital Patients Visit with a Local Professional Motorcycle Racer
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Friday, March 7, 2014) – At 2 p.m. this Saturday, patients at Lutheran Children’s Hospital will have an opportunity to meet Jeff Hiers, a professional motorcycle racer, and representatives from Lucky Harley Davison. The visitors to LCH will bring T-shirts and autographed photos of the racer.
Hiers, a former Huntington resident, raced in the Harley Flat Track Series for 15 years as well as the A83 Grand National Dirt Track Series. He qualified in 18 AMA Grand National 883 Harley Davidson events and finished in the top 20 every year since he went pro in 1994.
“These are memories that our pediatric patients will cherish and it helps shift the focus from their health issue towards something more uplifting,” said Krista Peak, executive director, Lutheran Children’s Hospital. “We value the variety of special guests like Jeff Hiers who make time for pediatric patients.”
Media are invited to join Hiers and the Harley Davidson representatives as they tell stories and give gifts to the children. Please meet in the main lobby of Lutheran Hospital. Call Lizette Downey at (260) 450-5277 if special arrangements are needed.
