Vijay Chilikamarri, MD, interventional cardiologist, Lutheran Medical Group, will demonstrate and explain transcatheter aortic valve replacement, or TAVR, in the same lab where he performed northern Indiana’s first two earlier this month. One of the two patients and family members will share their thoughts about the trailblazing procedure.

WHEN: 2 p.m., Thursday, June 27

WHERE: Lutheran Heart Pavilion, hybrid catheterization laboratory,
Lutheran Hospital

WHY: Approximately 250,000 U.S. adults experience severe aortic stenosis each year. Symptomatic severe aortic stenosis is life-threatening.
