It’s a Boy!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Jan. 1, 2013) – Lutheran Health Network is happy to announce that the first baby born this year at one of its Fort Wayne facilities arrived at 12:02 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in the Childbirth Suites at Lutheran Hospital. Alex is the son of Nancy. He weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long at the time of birth. Mother and child are doing well. The first baby of the new year at Dupont, Lutheran and St. Joseph hospitals all receive a special gift basket from Cheer Baskets on West Jefferson Boulevard.

A photo/video opportunity with Nancy & Alex has been scheduled from 2:30 to 3:30 this afternoon at Lutheran Hospital. Please check in at the front information desk in the main lobby upon arrival. For additional information, please call the switchboard at 435-7001 and have the operator contact the community relations team member who is on call.

For the safety of all involved, the community relations department will not be providing last names or where the family lives in our news release. However, that information may be provided by the family during the media opportunity if they so choose.

Since the start of the new millennium, Lutheran Hospital has welcomed Fort Wayne's New Year's Baby six times.

Dupont, Lutheran and St. Joseph hospitals do not endorse, nor do they participate in, third-party New Year’s Baby promotions. Please refer questions about this policy to the community relations department.
