A Century of Caring

What does it mean when a hospital turns 100 years old? For some, it may signify loyalty to the community in which the hospital serves. For others, it may stand for time-tested career opportunities that contribute to the overall economic health of the community. And for some, a hospital's 100th anniversary may signify quality medical care that's been provided to generations of loved ones. For Lutheran Hospital, turning 100 years old represents these things and much more.

Lutheran Hosptial has seen innumerable changes since it first opened its doors on the corner of Fairfield and Wildwood Avenues on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24th), 1904. Lutheran has grown from a 25-bed facility a century ago to a hospital that now receives over 240,000 patient visits annually. Discover what Lutheran Hospital's Century of Caring means to physicians, nurses, hospital volunteers and associates, and the community at large.
