What is the Cancer Resource Center?
The Cancer Resource Center is an educational/support service to help explain medical information and help coordinate all aspects of care for the cancer patient.
Who staffs the Cancer Resource Center?
The Cancer Resource Center is staffed by certified Oncology Nurses.
Is there a charge for accessing the Cancer Resource Center?
No, Lutheran Hospital provides this service free of charge.
Is any cancer patient welcome to use the Cancer Resource Center?
Yes, we can provide information for any type of cancer diagnosis, both genders, and those seeking treatment at any Cancer Center.
What hours is the Cancer Resource Center open?
A nurse is available Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. If you need arrangements for a time other than the above time, please call the Center at (260) 435-7959.
Can you help me with support services such as nutritional counseling, home health care and other issues?
The oncology nurses in the Cancer Resource Center can connect you with the services available in your community.
What is a "Cancer Navigator"?
A cancer navigator in the Cancer Resource Center is an oncology certified nurse who works with patients, families and physicians to help the cancer patient "navigate" the health care system through diagnosis and treatment.
Where is the Cancer Resource Center located?
The Cancer Resource Center is located at 7910 West Jefferson Blvd., Suite 109 on the Lutheran Campus. Ample free parking is available in the South Campus parking garage. Doors to the Center are directly across from the South Parking Garage.
Can the Cancer Resource Center be of help at any point in one's cancer journey?
Yes, the staff is willing to support you whether you have just been diagnosed or are dealing with survivorship issues years away from the diagnosis. Please view our Web site calendar to see what support groups the Cancer Resource Center has to offer.
