Mobile Intensive Care Units

Patients who require transfer to Lutheran Hospital from a hospital in the outlying area are transported by the hospital's critical care transport team. Mobile Intensive Care Units are staffed by a nurse and paramedic specially trained to stabilize and treat critically ill or injured patients during transport to the hospital.

MoICUs are dispatched when Lutheran Air cannot fly, such as during inclement weather, or when the patient is close by and can be transported quicker via ground.
