A.Tarik Kizilisik, MD, FACS

Tarik Kizilisik, MD, is director of and primary transplant surgeon at the Lutheran Hospital Kidney Transplant Center. Dr. Kizilisik, who has 15 years of transplant experience, joined Lutheran Hospital in January 2007.

Previously, Dr. Kizilisik was a faculty and attending transplant surgeon at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He completed fellowships at the University of Alberta in Canada and the University of Tennessee in Memphis in liver, kidney and pancreas transplants, and he has a master's in microvascular surgery.

Dr. Kizilisik has published more than 50 manuscripts and has given more than 100 presentations on the topics of liver, kidney and pancreas transplants and organ procurement, and he is a member of 14 academic societies in the fields of science, surgery and transplantation. Dr. Kizilisik was recently chosen as one of America's top surgeons by a nationwide, nonprofit, independent consumer research organization.
