Remember Loved Ones this Holiday Season

As holidays approach, Lutheran Hospital invites anyone who wants to commemorate family and friends with a personalized Remembrance Tree ornament to visit the main lobby on Saturday, Nov. 21. Volunteers will be available in the main lobby from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to paint the names of loved ones on ornaments. The ornaments will hang on the Remembrance Tree at Lutheran Hospital throughout the holiday season.

The day will include music from area choirs and radio personalities from WMEE 97.3 FM and K105 FM will also be onsite to add to the ambiance. The ornaments will be available for pick-up after the New Year. There is no cost for the ornaments.

Lutheran's Remembrance Tree event was initiated and organized by Nicki Knefelkamp, who wanted to create a meaningful event in memory of her mother, Deborah Joanne Tracey. Several nurses from Lutheran also assisted in planning this special activity.

A special dedication will take place at 12:45 p.m. The names of individuals being remembered will be read at that time. Media are encouraged to attend the dedication.
