Breastfeeding
Mother's milk is absolutely the best source of nutrition for baby. However, this "natural" process can sometimes seem anything but natural until you get the hang of it.

That's why we have a lactation consultant available to teach you the correct way to breast feed.

Birthing Classes

All Lutheran Hospital Childbirth/Patient Education Department classes are FREE to the public – advanced registration is required. Call (260) 435-7070 for more information or to sign up for a class today.

From the earliest stages of your pregnancy, we will provide you with the best experience possible as you prepare for a new family member. We offer educational programs to help you and your family through your journey to childbirth. All classes are taught by qualified and experienced instructors in an informal classroom setting that encourages participation

Mom can choose anybody to be her birthing coach. The only requirement for coaches is that they be a person mom trusts and who will commit themselves to being supportive.

Older siblings are welcome to attend some of the birthing classes. We even have a program designed especially for brothers and sisters. We strongly recommend that children attend this program, if at all possible.

Because space in each of our classes is limited, please register early for classes close to your due date. Call the Parent Education office at (260) 435-7070 for current class schedules.
